In short, aquarium hobbyists who create blackwater tanks resort to carbon filters or water changes to handle the accumulation of ammonium wastes. The usual denitrifying bacteria from freshwater aquariums shutdown in the low pH of blackwater tanks, so there's no natural process to stabilize the water chemistry.
There's plenty of science showing the Archaeans thrive in blackwater habitats & perform these recycling functions instead.
I'd really like a sample of the mud at the bottom of a blackwater stream or swamp, and I think Florida's blackwater is the best option. I especially need the substrate up to a foot or two below the surface. This should allow me to test out the evolution of the nitrogen cycle in an appropriately acidic aquarium. Just a bottle shipped to me will work. I'm in NYC. Thanks
外围体育投注Capybaras being an extremely chill animal has become a bit of a meme, at least in my social media feed idk how universal it is. Lots of photos of capybaras relaxing with a serene expression near the water among other animals.
I'm wondering if the "chill" reputation of a capybara is just laypersons projecting/misinterpreting animal body language. Or if many animals coexisting near water is just a common phenomena, and capybaras happen to be very photogenic, leading to more attention being given to calm waterside scenes featuring them.
外围体育投注For as long as I can remember, whenever I get hit in the face with a blast of cold wind (walking outside, or rolling down the car window on a chilly day) my throat has immediately and involuntarily closed up, and it's taken a moment to open it and breathe normally.
外围体育投注I assumed that this was universal, and was due to some sort of drowning prevention reflex. However, I recently discussed it with a friend who said she's never had that issue.
What's going on here?
外围体育投注This is NOT to say vaccines are inherently dangerous at all, I completely support them, however, this is due to the rigorous trials, testing and regulatory restrictions which ensure they are safe and have minimal significant side effects.
My query is whether the possible side-effects (Mostly long-term such as immune deficiencies, or ) would pose a greater risk to the health of those receiving the vaccine than an actual COVID-19 infection itself, assuming the person is young, healthy and has no pre-existing medical conditions which makes them more susceptible.
My thinking is that because current vaccine candidates are trying to be produced and refined as fast as possible, any long-term side effects will be impossible to predict or prevent until it is too late should the vaccines be distributed any time soon. I am assuming the person receiving the vaccine would be very low risk, such as a young adult with no underlying conditions, as the risk posed by the virus to their health is minimal .
Thanks for any insights you have to offer, I am quite interested in this :)
外围体育投注I was studying a 3D model of a Wild Boar skull for a sculpture I’m working on and noticed the eye sockets don’t have any apparent outlets to the brain. The model is pretty accurate but it could just be missing something.
外围体育投注It made me wonder where the nerves run and how a boar processes information. Are there tiny holes that are missing?
I was also impressed that the skull seemed to have it’s own compartment for the brain. Giving it some extra durability.
