I'm now sorta worried the author is giving us a high just to make thorfinn suffer another low. I've already suffered with berserk's eclipse and that slave arc so my heart wouldn't handle it :(
- Thorfinn is a bit of a cheeky bugger here. I like this Thorfinn
外围体育投注- Halfdann for the 80 sheep prices makes a lot of sense now I think about it. Cordillia / Halvor is the perfect slave.
- Halfdann's respect is slowly being won over and I am liking him more and more. We be getting big bucks for Vinland Bois.
外围体育投注- Ylva not being a complete joke in this chapter is always a plus. More of this Ylva plz
I noticed when reading through the chapter another time that
I think this retroactively makes her scene when Thorfinn arrives home in chapter 165 a bit less jokey as this implies she really has been getting into fights.
外围体育投注Thorfinn this entire chapter was basically :3
I don't think we've seen him this pleased with himself since like... ever. It's cool seeing the results of his two-year trading trip. He's a lot better at being personable, and has clearly learned a thing or two about negotiating. Like, you could see the exact moment he knew外围体育投注 he had Halfdan, and from there on it was just making Halfdan realize it. Freaking adorable.
It's also kind of interesting to think how this aspect of Thorfinn was sort of foreshadowed as well. In the very first chapter he gets sent as a negotiator with people who don't speak the same language - and yeah, he was following Askeladd's orders, and he wasn't exactly being pleasant, but he did succeed.
But I kind of agree that it felt to me like these past two chapters could have been a single one (especially since we had several half-pages of flashback/reused frames). I'm hoping this is a breather, because I fully expect things to get more intense in the upcoming chapters.
the manga tone has changed quite a lot, but i don't mean it in a bad way, i just feel like i am reading a totally different manga right now, but i have a lot of faith in this manga and not sure what to expect from this point onward
Yeah I agree, its more happy, I think. Bit more victorious then usual. However, I expect a bigger conflict to arise soon as we are just beginning the arc. I feel like this is similar in tone to the first time Thorfinn returned to Iceland.
Not sure how big of a shift it actually is / will be, I will have to judge it at end of the arc to get a full understanding of it.
Yah it’s weird though because thorfinn is going to fail at establishing a land in Vinland so I’m really wondering where this is heading. Maybe he may not be following what actually happens. The author I mean
外围体育投注I have a creeping suspicion that by the time they get to Vinland, things are going to go terribly. Not bringing any weapons to fend themselves with, Thorfinn being so optimistic.
外围体育投注It's nice to see him being so happy after everything he's been through, but he's pretty naive to think that anyone he encounters will be negotiable with him by just talking it out and not having to resort to violence. If Vinland is inhabited by hostile people, they are gonna be screwed.
外围体育投注I have a feeling Halfdann will join Thorfinn's side. It feels like the story calls for it. Guess we'll find out in a month
So basically this is the last chapter's second half so it's pretty boring in this monthly format. I'd almost prefer it if Yukimura didn't release a chapter one month so this whole situation was in a single chapter. It's not a real issue though. Way more excited about next chapter since i don't really know what's to come.
I guess the notable thing here is that Thorfinn is characterised as persuasive and having people skills. Another step to his very gradual change and this time borrowing Askeladd traits. Everybody is happy and excited and stuff but i wonder for how long (really want to see how this arc's conflict plays out).
So assuming that this volume will mostly be setup and before the actual expedition (kinda like the fettered tern) what is there left to cover? Thorfinn 2.0 and Leif , that farming warrior dude with the face paint and probably seeing what is the result of Thorfinn's speech at the thing. This being the final arc i really want VS to throw me a bone here with some thematic foreshadowing cause while the Halvor/Cordelia stuff fits the already established themes it's not really anything new.
Amazing. I always liked the background sky with stars. No electricity, buildings. Just pure bliss and awesome feels.
It's so good to see Thorfinn at this stage. He really has aced life.
