I finally got around to watching Grave of the Fireflies (1988) yesterday. I had heard that it was incredibly sad, but I didn't expect it to move me as much as it did. It legitimately ruined my night. By the end I didn't know what to do with myself. I just sat in my chair crying, desperately trying to think of something fun to do or watch to distract me. It really put me in a weird place mentally. It was almost like an out-of-body experience. I spent an hour and a half of my life so emotionally invested in Seita and his sister that I felt completely emotionally spent by the end. I'm trying not to cry just thinking about it as I write this. It's a beautifully and masterfully made movie that transcends its medium and pulls you into its world. Just do some emotional push ups before watching it.
外围体育投注Who can play different kind of roles the best? So width of roles, frequency, intensity and depth?
What is your top 3?
外围体育投注I think most agree that Leonardo DiCaprio would be in the top 3, but after that?
外围体育投注Tom Hanks, maybe? Denzel Washington? Natalie Portman? Johnny Depp? Joaquin Phoenix? Jake Gyllenhaal? Hugh? Ryan?
外围体育投注Believe me when I say, I haven't watched a single movie in my life except the first 20 or so minutes of "No Country For Old Men" years ago. I just never thought I had time to spend 2 hours watching something (but then I'd scroll through reddit for 2 hours) However now I'm feeling like watching some movies! Tell me your top movies of all time everyone should watch!!
外围体育投注Everybody loves to bring up Jack as Robin Williams' worst movie, and Jack was certainly a piece of junk Francis Coppola did to pay his debt from the early 80s, but Patch Adams was so much worse.
外围体育投注A movie about a doctor who feels providing humor to his patients can be life-saving or healthy so we see Willams do a lot of mugging and be annoying and everybody who disagrees with the doctor is a bitter hater. I mean, even the casting for the "villains" couldn't be more obvious with Bob Gunton, the token grouch from the 90s, playing another judgmental principal or Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the anally-retentive roommate whom we know will turn on Patch's back.
Oh, and the romantic interest is played by the much younger Monica Potter.
外围体育投注I thought What Dreams May Come was corny as fuck, I kept wishing Annabelle Sciorra never came back from Hell so all that crying and mopiness would end, but Patch Adams takes the cake. I had to watch Awakenings to remind me Robin Williams could play a doctor in a GOOD movie.
